Provider attracted and retained 60,300 jobs
The Knoxville-based electricity provider attracted and retained 60,300 jobs, up from 52,000 jobs last year, and $8.5 billion in business investments, up from $5 billion last year, in its footprint, which includes Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
TVA attributed its gains to an increase in new projects and its competitive and reliable power generation.
Economic development in the West Tennessee region spurred 7,600 jobs and $1.2 billion in capital investment, TVA reported.

"It is a credit to the dedicated work of our employees and the strong relationships we have built with our customers and communities that together we had a banner year in 2014."
In 2014, TVA was recognized by Site Selection magazine for its role in partnering with local power companies and economic development agencies to encourage economic growth.
